Before recording their live concert on VPRO Kozo Inada had released several works on Staaplaat, that were works with odd titles - a[] and d[]. All that is made by this unreal sound-designer is slowly growing, leisurely noise, low frequency noises surround you layer by layer and covers the listeners' audience. This time in series Mort Aux Vaches one can hear only one composition "i[]" longing a little longer than 42 minutes. It's some kind of quintessence of noises by master-samurai. It can be compared only to tsunami that appeared from nowhere and razed fishing villages from the sea coast in seconds.
And the performer himself manages to reproduce the atmosphere very persuasively and express all feelings after listening the raging nature. All starts really from afar, slowly coming close to visionaries – the visitors of the odd unreal portals. Especially one can feel deep the acceleration and sound knockout, when the dense wall of sound rushes out of acoustic systems and brakes against the walls. That's not an uninterrupted high frequency sound stream like those made by Merzbow. Kozo Inada intentionally conducts very beautiful and refined work with low noises. He really has his own niche and he has what to propose to people who are interested in it.
Separately I can mention that design of Kozo Inada - Mort Aux Vaches impresses as usual – a cover made of special paper is punched out with holes, obviously, creating the illusion of acid effect. Very close to the theme!
