We didn't write in Sound Proector about the first release Standing On A Hummingbird which appeared in 2007, that's our oversight. I'm sure, that remarkable compact-disc took its rightful place of the shelves of music fans near the releases of such labels as Neo Ouija, Kranky, Moteer, City Centre Offices etc... As well as in Standing On A Hummingbird in the new work by Templeton there is life full, rich electroacoustics, it's represented in warm, asperous sound, like colorful pictures on shabby plaster of an old, uninhabited house. At home, where the most valuable things are the traits of its getting older, they contain its spirit, atmosphere and history. Some folk, plus technologies of digital processing create the rich world of hybrid sounds. Microsounds and glitches scrape over guitar and banjo sounds - almost like in wine cellar where noble dust is not removed, here the natural, live sound artificially grows old and brakes into pieces which are used in building of warm, romantic compositions. Inland came out more smooth and softer than the previous album and as it seems to me, for some people it can seem boring. Templeton makes less strikes with glitch-hammer over the live sound, but in some tracks slowly and melancholically lingering notes, he uses voice as the additional instrument. There isn't anything new, surprising or supernatural in Inland, though it's still very beautiful music, I think so...
