...For me there is no difference between sound and music. The qualities of sound I almost always find are 'musical' in nature - whether that be temporality, tone, pitch, dynamics etc. I can listen to hydrophonic recordings from the coast of Queensland or a psych folk group from Japan and find both as enjoyable and inspiring as each other. The detail of the sound matter is what I am interested in - the unique qualities or aspects that make a particular sound or combination of sounds engaging...
Perhaps in creative work of each musician there comes the moment, when after release of some especially successful album all next albums are in some way compared to it. For me such an album by Canadian project Loscil became Plume, though I can't compare it to the new record Endless Falls...
...If you want to hear this music for 100%, then having seen the people involved in this CDr, it's better to isolate yourself at once from any outer sound sources. Even using headphones you may lose the composition clue or get confused of which exactly sound is transmitted by the acoustic system, and which one comes from outside. In general it is a good field for experiments...
