British label Moteer releases music called clicks`n`cuts and glitch, it's something warm and full of life. It differs much from the dry, distilled sound proposed, for example, by raster-noton. Album Micro of the Italian musician con_cetta supports this idea and develops this theme so, that we can see the difference properly. Such dusty, deep and rough sound is like a visiting card of Moteer.I got acquainted with con_cetta's (real name Giuseppe Cordaro) music this spring after his release Sclerosis on net-label Zymogen, that was a very pleasant surprise for me. Of no doubt, Micro's CD is a new step forward.
Can you see the interior of some old electrical appliance depicted on the album's cover? Imagine, that you deepen into this appliance, smell it and examine all details, smell deep... Then you'll feel the spirit of those times... times of this interesting device. With the help of destructive digital arrangement Giuseppe imitates those changes which influenced this device in the course of time. Squeaks and rustles form the unique texture of the sound surface with pastel colors. But those effects and noise aren't the most important part of this music, they just help the creator to feel free for the following experiments. Abstract simple piano melodies and string sounds make the music true live. They help us to hear the emotions, thoughtful mood so that we can see the rain when it's sunny and hot outside.
